Our beloved laughing red character from Sesame Street, Elmo, came to several countries here in Southeast Asia with the intent to spread his newest campaign “Spread Kindness, #ShareTheLaughter”. His first stop was in Manila in the Philippines. Elmo was in the capital city from September 17 – 24, 2017 appearing on several media outlets in the country, gracing local morning news shows on TV and interacting with the media while promoting his campaign. Elmo also attended a “Read-Along” session that was done by collaborating with a major local broadsheet, Philippine Daily Inquirer.
Elmo’s second stop on his list was in Singapore. Where for 3 days, he interacted with key figures in the country who also taught Elmo about Singapore’s culture. Elmo was able to spread kindness and #ShareTheLaughter with locals of the country while also promoting Sesame Street’s newest season. Elmo also toured Singapore’s local tourist attraction sites, such as Universal Studios Singapore and the National Museum of Singapore, that provided maximum exposure for his campaigns.
The third and final stop on Elmo’s tour was in Bangkok, Thailand. He spent 3 days in the country as well spreading kindness and sharing the laughter through appearances on radio and television as well as visiting tourist spots and learning the culture of the country.
In Elmo’s first Southeast Asian tour, the three-year-old monster transcended both country borders and language barriers with witty banter and humorous one-liners, proving that laughter and kindness knows no limitations.
