Miffy was created in 1955 by Dick Bruna, who’s an internationally awarded illustrator and writer. He has published 124 children’s picture books and 32 of those are Miffy which are translated into more than 50 languages.
He first drew sketches of a little bunny to entertain his young son on a seaside holiday in Holland. Each night he made up stories about the bunny, and soon Miffy was born. Miffy’s official birthday is on the 21st of June.
Every picture of Miffy is created by hand using pencil & black poster paint, together with coloured card. The vision and style for Miffy was to make it pure and simple, strong with basic colours, and educational. Its goal is to be able to inspire the imagination. Its character value comes from the innocence and charm of Miffy brought by the genuine iconic artwork, classic storytelling and educational themes.
